Veliko Turnovo is a town built in a hill. The streets are narrow and up the hill. We stayed over night then toured Tsarvets fortress. It was very interesting you could see where the drawbridge probably was, the palace on top of the hill. Although the palace itself wasn't very impressive. We all climbed the top and found out that all there is to see is an old church with paintings. If I knew that I wouldn't have dragged myself and all three kids up the hill in the rain. Yes, it was raining a little. You could see remains of where different buildings were at one point in time, as the walls still remain.
They had a light show around the fortress at night, you can see from the picture above.
